Mon, 6 August 2007 This show is part 2 of my trip upriver calling at the bridges on the way
through. Lots of tourhistry (tourist history - geddit?) and interesting
info. I introduce the Parky's Picks book review - well, I've read a few good books with a London link recently and I was going to review one this time. Well, that one will have to wait as the one I am reading at the moment moved me to put it in the show before I have even finished it! You really must check out Rachel North's Out Of The Tunnel, available at all good bookshops or at Amazon. Watch the video directly below this posting for more information. Moving, sad, happy, distubing and funny - and all at the same time. I am struggling to put this book down. More info about the music and stuff at www.thisweekinlondon.co.uk Comments[0] |

Wed, 25 April 2007 Many thanks to Steven Crosby for suggesting our destination this week.
We're in Mayfair this time, spending time looking in the shops, pubs
and restaurants. Music is provided by The Tacticians with their lovely song "London's Alright", 3 Blind Mice with Watchstar and Hungry Lucy with Shine. I forgot how good these bands were. Got play more Hungry Lucy... I'm thinking of going on location next time and doing another WhereTheHeckIsHe? Competition. Harder this time. Much Much Harder. What do you think? Was it fun or was it rubbish last time? Let me know eh? Keep the emails coming in - I do answer all of them and is you want to Skype me just call Parkylondon! Thanks for letting me take 30 minutes of your time today. Much appreciated. Have a nice one. Comments[0] |

Good music too - as you would, I hope, expect... See ya! Comments[0] |

Sat, 13 January 2007 This is This Week In London Number 3. I
spend some time helping folk to get into London from the two key
airports and also give a London Underground 101 for those who haven't
really used it before. Music is provided by New London Fire which you can find at music.podshow.com. Feedback is welcome at thisweekinlondon ==aT== gmail :::d_o_t::: com or you can leave feedback here. Just click comments below! Direct Link to ShowPodshow Feedback Comments[0] |
Sun, 24 December 2006 Hi... First of a big thanks to everyone who is tuning in to This Week in London. I'm having a lot of fun doing this and I hope you're enjoying it - please do contact me at thisweekinlondon@gmail.com if you have any stories of Life or Travel in London. This time we're exploring Borough Market, the foodies heaven and associated pubs, restaurants and foody shops. Well worth a visit if you have time. As we move into the Christmas Holiday itself I give a little history on the Christmas Tree in Traflagar Sqaure, where it came from and why. Also be on the look out for the New Year Fireworks display after the midnight bongs from the main bell in St. Stephens Tower at the Houses of Parliament aka Big Ben. FWIW - Big Ben ONLY refers to the bell, not the clock, not the tower.... I also talk about the Flickr stream I have on Flat Stan (just Google Flat Stan if you have no idea what this means) and his travels in London. You can find the stream here Music this week sourced at the Podshow Music Network and provided courtesy of the Bands: Satelite Dub with London has more Lights and The Bridge Gang with "London Sky Tonigh" demo0 Special thanks to Ed at Ed's Mixed Bag for playing the promo - cheers Ed. If you haven't already please do check out Ed's show at www.edsmixedbag.com So, a Happy Christmas to everyone out there and Happy New Year too!Comments[0] |
Sun, 10 December 2006 I am working on a new podcast and I thought I'd try it out on my long
suffering Flashing12 audience. The new show is called This Week In
London and is all about my favourite city, my home city, London... I will be focussing on the place, the people, the events, the history and the odd stuff which make my favourite city what it is today. Please do let me know what you think of this, I want to engage better (more) with my audience and try to give more back to the folks who have supported my Podcasting efforts, which, frankly, haven't been terribly frequent! Send me an email to thisweekinlondon ----at----- gmail ----dot---- com..... and I will take your advice / ideas / offers of help and start a continuous improvement process with this show. Direct Link to the Show Music in this show is provided by: Null Device with a track called "Walk In London - Acoustic Mix" - the have their own home page too and SingLadies with a track called "London Love" - they have a MySpace Account as well which is worth checking out. I've got a temporary home at London.podshow.com which is where you'll find the RSS feed for it... Comments[0] |

Tue, 16 May 2006 Here is the first show in what I hope will become a new sequence and hopefully a new feed (in time). I recorded it as a double ender with my buddy Karl Rotstan in New York and me in London over a noisy Skype connection. The sound quality is, um, "variable" but we're working on that. Weird NyLon - Weird Stories From Around The World - recorded in New York and London... I hope you enjoy it and look forward to getting your feedback at http://www.rotstan.com/blog.html which is Karl's blogpage or direct to me at flashing12@gmail.com Enjoy Paul Comments[0] |

Sun, 2 April 2006 We're baaaack. After a bit of a hiatus we've got another show together. Those of you who read www.theflashing12.com will know what's been going on with my Dad. This show is related to all that but in a positive happy way. We were visited by my Aunt (Dad's Sister) and her son Dave for 10 days about a fortnight ago and this recording is based on a rum, champagne and lemonade fuelled podcast session. Enjoy. PS Adam Curry needs to rip part of this show out... Comments[0] |

Sun, 30 October 2005 The show is in post production... naahh, thats cobblers. I've done the recording, and it needs to be fiddled with before it sounds less like a pile of something you would avoid in the street !
Anyways this is an audience participation show - so lots to look forward to but lots of reasons to have to fiddle with it...

Sat, 15 October 2005 Welcome! This is the first proper Podcast in the Flashing 12 Podcast series. This is the first one I felt I could actually puclish and tell people about. Feel free to check out the others but please bear in mind that they are test runs (=crap)!
Stories in this one are about the Ariane rocket blowing up a few years ago plus an internview with my own "Geek Girl", Janet. She's a near miss in the Flashing 12 stakes as this interview while we were on holiday shows!
Music from Jammin Inc and Natalie Brown via the Podsafe Music Network. Thanks to the BBC and Twelfth Night for the start music - Music section taken from "Sequences" from the album "Live and let live". Enjoy. Well, at least keep your dinner down. Comments[0] |
Sun, 25 September 2005 This is a much better effort. Better intro with less cr@p and the Amateur Transplants for the music... Much better... Comments[0] |
